I've considered starting a blog for a long time. I've never been fond of social media, and while I have a few, I don't often post on them. I've been looking for an outlet to better help get my creative juices flowing again. Writing has been a hobby and passion of mine for as long as I can remember, so I figured that this would be a good way to practice that skill, while also being able to share that work with other people. 

One of the main reasons I wanted to start a blog was to post book reviews. While I use Goodreads, mostly for tracking progress, keeping a list of books I've read and for finding new books, I wanted a space outside of that where I could express my opinions. I also find that when I review books I spend more time thinking about them, more time with the subject matter, and keep a better memory of what I read. I've often had the issue of remembering what some books are about after putting books back on the shelf and a few months or years pass by. (also I hate rating something with stars or tomatoes or numbers, I'd much rather read someones opinion and then form my own opinion... You know DISCUSSING SOMETHING!)

This is also a space where I hope I can share my own opinions about anything. Writing them out, and taking the time to think and research topics is a great way to flesh out arguments, better understand topics, and possibly even change my or others minds about something. 

Finally, I do love to write. I've written short stories, poems, and am even working on a novel (although slowly). I'm not sure how I'd post my writing here if ever I do, but this may be a great spot for that.

    Hey Dominic, really inspiring post! I love how you're starting this blog as a creative outlet to get your writing flowing again – it's awesome that you're focusing on book reviews (instead of just star ratings) and sharing deeper thoughts on topics that matter to you. It reminds me of how writing helps clarify ideas and even change perspectives. Keep it up, looking forward to more posts, short stories, and poems!

    Honesty and Relatable, writing about starting again took some brave steps. CIPD Experts London shows how writing helps the writer to understand their purpose, provides consistency, and will help to encourage personal growth with deep and meaningful reflection.

This is one of those rare cases, one in which I have seen the movie before reading the book. I often find seeing the movie first, takes away from the book but not the other way around. Blog Update

Hi all,      I have been lacking in my posting game here on the blog. I really want to get back into posting and I have a few things in the works that I've just been putting off. My goal is to primarily post narrative stories here, based on events that occurred in my life. We will see if I even have enough to write about. I'll also probably continue to post occasional updates, or if there are any reviews for things I think are amazing like books, movies or idk anything.     In the last few months my life has changed quite a bit. I've changed jobs, bought and moved into my first house on my own (and my cat), and have really lacked motivation to sit down and continue writing and posting. I do want to use this as a platform to allow my creative juices flow. I have also been debating weather or not I want to even change the format of this site (currently hosted on blogger) and change the way I post updates. I know I don't really have that much traffic coming to this...
